As yesterday’s defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today’s military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.

WWII
Korean War
Vietnam War
Persian Gulf War
  Kosovo
War in Afghanistan
War in Iraq
War on Global Terror

and other Peace-Keeping Expeditionary Campaigns throughout the globe.

"Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over". With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!!

If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

On behalf of the members of Post 1756, welcome! This website is intended to provide you with information about your local VFW Post and how you can be involved. As a member you will have many opportunities to continue to serve your country and your community.

Our monthly post meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 P.M. At these meetings, we discuss opportunities to help in the community, ways to raise funds for Veterans causes and honor veterans. The post is located directly across the street from the historic Postville Courthouse on 5th Street in Lincoln, IL.

I would be happy to meet with you at the post, give you a quick tour and share more about Post 1756. Our goal is to help you feel welcome and encourage you to come and enjoy the benefits of membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and in Post 1756. We are always looking for new input and ideas to keep our post strong.

Feel free to contact me or any of the post officers with any questions.

Once again, welcome aboard and thank you for your interest in the VFW!

Virtual Career Fair for Veterans and their Spouses
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) are teaming up to host a VFW Virtual Career Fair on October 5, 2016, exclusively for veterans, service members and their spouses, and we need your help in spreading the word! The Oct. 5 event will run from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. EDT, and provide career-seeking service members, veterans and their spouses the opportunity to connect with job openings being offered by some of the top names in the hospitality industry. The event will feature available opportunities with Ecolab, Hyatt, Sodexo, BJ's Restaurants and Sysco, all companies with a history of commitment to hiring America’s service members and veterans. While participants may register at the time of and during the event, participants are strongly encouraged to preregister for the event at http://www.vfwvirtual.com/registration/. The October 5 hospitality-focused event will seek candidates to fill a myriad of opportunities in the industry, ranging from front of the house and back of the house restaurant positions, to those involving administrative, food services, culinary, facilities management, environmental services, housekeeping, construction, clinical health management and many more. All companies are nationwide and offer an array of opportunities that only large, multi-million dollar corporations can. Whether you’re currently trying to navigate today’s tough job market, or know someone who is, the upcoming VFW Virtual Career Fair is an excellent opportunity open exclusively for service members, veterans and their spouses

VFW Salutes United States Army for 241 Years of Service
Our nation’s soldiers are America’s true heroes.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – June 14, 2016, marks the 241st year of service from the United States Army. The U.S. Army has evolved drastically since it was originally organized as the Continental Army in 1775; battlefields have transformed, weaponry has evolved, faces have come and gone, military uniforms have varied, but one thing holds fast: the bravery and the heart of the individuals who wear the uniform, and their commitment to their mission.
